It takes a great team to make the ministry of any church great. Service anchors us and helps us connect in the body of Christ. We desire for Church of the Way to be an irresistible environment for all who participate and it is those who volunteer that make this possible. Service Opportunities:

Coffee Teams:

The team helps prepare and serve the coffee and tea for the service and tidying up after all has been served. Teams are generally on duty once every 4-5 weeks. Everyone can help out here.

Worship Team and Sound Desk

The Heart and the Art are both important in the HeArt worship team.

Vocalists and musicians are welcome to audition to join the team.

The Sound Desk requires some technical acumen, the actual details will be taught in training. Responsibilities include setting up and managing the sound desk and the sound system for the practices and Sunday services and events.

Projector & Multimedia

This ministry runs the computer on the back wall and includes managing the projection of song words and facilitating the projection of any audio-visual material.

Camera Work and Editing Team

High Tech that enables High touch – the camera team records the services, oversees the live streaming of services and post service editing and production of audio-visual material.

Lighting Team

Help add some colour to the services using our coloured, flashing and automated lighting equipment. Come and express your creativity and add value to our worship experience by being part of the lighting team.

Welcome Team

This team sets the mood as people enter and leave the church premises for a service with a warm smile and a friendly greeting. Responsibilities include handing out birthday chocolates, welcoming visitors and facilitating people to seats.

Parking Team

An extension of the Welcome Tea, helping to manage the flow of traffic in and out of the property and direct people to designated parking spots.

Set up / Tear Down Teams

When we have special events there is always a need to help prepare the venue, sort out props etc and pack it all away again afterwards. Make yourself available to help out.

Children’s Church

This is an incredible opportunity to change lives. The children’s church team ministers to the children during the Sunday services in 2 classes: the Cow Tots and the Kids Church. Each class has a teacher and a helper, the teacher oversees the class and the lesson, and the helper assists the teacher in this – older teenagers make great helpers.

Youth and Young Adults

Our Youth Ministry meets every Friday night with various fun activities and input – Ages: 13-18 welcome.

Youth Talk happens after the Praise and Worship each Sunday – for ages 11-15; this is a discussion and ministry time focused on relevant themes and topics.

Hospitality Team

We often have guest speakers participating at various events of the church, and it is a value for us to honour the men and women of God who minister to our local body. The hospitality team helps prepare facilities before our guest’s arrival, welcomes our guests on arrival and ensures that they looked after while they are with us.

Admin, Transcribing, Typing, Inventory & Stock Control

There is often extra admin work that is required in and around the office. Do you have a few hours spare every now and then, or maybe a specific time frame each week – let us know and come and assist with some of the varied and important tasks that go on behind the scenes that help keep everything in working order.

Do you enjoy practical skills like welding, wood-working, plumbing, or electrical? Would you make yourself available to help facilitate work parties or come in for specific maintenance tasks / projects?
